Most people associate worship with the Sunday Church Service. Others view worship as that segment in the church service where the lights are dimmed and high-beat praise music is replaced by slow-paced low-tone music.
While both assertions are correct, worship encompasses more than events that occur over the weekend. Worship is an act, a series of activities that acknowledge our Creator, and respond accordingly.
The position of this book is that several worship activities are, and can become, spiritual weapons. The activities will sustain and strengthen us. They will equip us with the armor we need to withstand the fiery darts of the enemy. They will further enable us to realize the manifestation of God's blessings in or lives.
In addition to exploring the various ways we can celebrate and portray God's worth, this book will bring awareness to our views on contemporary church service. The author conducted a survey to ascertain the factors that most influence our worship experience in a church service. The survey results, which are tabulated in the Appendix, should serve as a useful tool for Pastors and Church leaders who want to improve on their shepherding responsibilities.
I have also attempted to develop an instrument that will guide us to gauge the focus of our worship. By completing the instrument in the Appendix, one can learn where his/her "Focus in worship" lies.
I would like to invite you to join me in an adventure on worship. We will be singing along the way. And there will be occasion for suspense, devotion, prayer, and fun.
This book has wide audience. It is particularly suited for Sunday Schools, Fellowship, and Small Groups. Pastors will find the findings of the survey useful. By reviewing their score on the "Focus in Worship" quiz, believers who want to continue in their spiritual journey may be able to redirect their motive in worship.
