Wally and Freddy
Leave Home

Written by Juanita Hourigan Hodgen
Ilustrated by Amelia Yaste

Home Sweet Home

Wally and Freddy find
that although it may be
crowded there is
no place like home.

The inspiration for this story came from the Juanita’s life on the farm as she watched many chipmunks playing in tree roots by a brook.

This story was written in the 1970’s for Juanita's grandchildren who were always begging to hear a story. Their love for small woodland creatures prompted Juanita to tell the story of Wally and Freddy.
