Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, Robert Newhall grew up in Vermont and Massachusetts, loving the outdoors. Because of his special affection for animals, he looked for a career where he could work with them.
He attended the University of Wyoming earning a degree in wildlife management. After college the opportunity presented itself to join the Peace Corp and Robert travelled to Botswana, Africa. There he managed a wildlife preserve and was able to take care of the animals he loved. It was during this time he began to explore and write his stories and adventures.
Upon returning home, Robert worked for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, a cause in which he firmly believed. He also worked part-time at the New England Aquarium following his passion.
Robert continued to write and composed “A Restless Frog Named Fred” which he shared with his family. In June, 1998, Robert met with an accidental death. “A Restless Frog Named Fred” is one of the wonderful things he left behind. We hope you enjoy the story and remember Robert
for the kind, loving person, who had an interest in animals and enjoyed writing for children.
